INSPIRATIONAL LIFE AWARDS

After winning Inspirational Life Awards for both performer Of The Year and Pop/Contemporary Album Of The Year (Found A Place) in 2001, Essential Records’ pop quartet FFH garners repeat nominations in both categories, the latter for its current project, Have I Ever Told You.

The only fan-driven awards program for Christian products, winners are determined by the number of votes received in each category on INSP’s Web site ballot. As FFH frontman Jeromy Deibler comments, “FFH is honored to be among the nominees for this year’s Inspirational Life Awards. These awards mean so much to us because the voters are Christian music fans and listeners just like us. No industry bells and whistles - just audience opinion.”

The Inspirational Life Awards program launched in 1997 to recognize outstanding Christian performers, singers, musicians, writers and producers as chosen by viewers of The Inspirational Networks. Votes are accepted on www.inspawards.com through August 2002, at which time votes will be tabulated and winners announced beginning in October.

Essential Records band FFH is Jeromy Deibler, Jennifer Deibler, Brian Smith and Michael Boggs. The group traveled this past fall and winter as special guest on Point of Grace’s “Free to Fly” tour and has continued performing in support of its current album, Have I Ever Told You, with concerts, camps and conventions booked through early fall.

Recently nominated for Best Pop/Contemporary Album by the Gospel Music Association, Have I Ever Told You is the band’s third Essential release, following the success of their national debut, I Want To Be Like You (which earned them the title of Best New Artist of 1999 by The CCM Update), and their critically acclaimed sophomore record Found A Place. Career sales of the band’s recordings have reached close to 1 million copies and generated numerous radio hits. Have I Ever Told You has garnered three No. 1 radio singles since its debut nine months ago, including, “Watching Over Me,” “On My Cross” and “Before It Was Said.”

JEROMY IS PRODUCING!
This is awesome news!! My Hometeam Magazine came in the mail today, and this is what Jeromy had to say. Check it out! "FFH has a really exciting year coming up but in-between FFH dates I will be doing some producing on my own. Starting in January, I will be working with a newly signed band from Alabama called "Big Daddy Weave". It will be my first experience in the producer's chair so I'm a little nervous but feel excited to dive into something a little different. FFH has always been and continues to be my top priority but producing has been something I have wanted to explore for some time. FFH's producer, Scott Williamson, has been very gracious in offering his help and experience wherever I need it and Jennifer, Bri, and Mike have been awesome in offering their support. Keep me in your prayers!"

We will definitely be praying for you, Jeromy! Good luck!

A NEW CHRISTMAS ALBUM?
According to Jennifer, there may be a Christmas album in the works. From Jennifer herself, "...There is also some talk of us recording a Christmas record this Spring. This is something FFH has always wanted to do and I hope we get the chance to finally make it happen!"

Wouldn't that be the coolest thing? Let's keep FFH in our prayers!

JEROMY & JEN FEATURED IN K-LOVE MAGAZINE
Jeromy and Jennifer were featured in the magazine with other artist couples. The article was entitled "Love Songs: Composing The Melody Of Marriage". Check below for the excerpt on these two love birds...

"They promised to cherish each other in good times and in bad. Many days, they haven't much time to cherish each other. But they try. Long hours in the studio blur into months of living on a tour bus full of tired people and bunk beds. Dinners are catered food on paper plates with all the band mates. Amid hurried conversations between gigs, couples long for some alone time. Romantic? Hardly. That's the life of married couples in Christian music. We chatted with five couples, some who work together, and some who work apart. Here, they share the joys and struggles of being married to a fellow artist, and their love on and off the road.

Jennifer and Jeromy Deibler (FFH)

How long have they been married?

Jennifer and Jeromy have been married six years and have worked together for seven. They haven't any children, yet.

How did they meet?

They met in 1994 at a Rich Mullins' concert during Gospel Music Week in Nashville, Tenn. Jeromy traveled from Pennsylvania and Jennifer from her home in St. Louis, Mo., to attend the concert. Mutual friends introduced them, and it was interest at first sight. "The first thing she ever asked me — and she didn't even know me — was to hold her purse because she wanted to get closer to the stage," says Jeromy, laughing. They were married a year later.

How did Jeromy propose to Jennifer?

In April 1995, Jeromy bought a dozen red roses and proposed to Jennifer over the microphone at the conclusion of an FFH concert in Lancaster, Penn. Jennifer, who was in the audience with both of their families, was shocked! Jeromy had made up this big story that he would never propose at a concert because it was serious ministry time. He was just trying to throw her off, and he did. "I don't think she said yes right away. I think her first words were, 'I'm going to kill you,'" says Jeromy, chuckling. They were married in November that year.

What are the benefits of working together in the studio and on the road?

Jeromy:
It's awesome to not have to leave your wife.

What is the downside of working together?

Jennifer:
We're together all of the time and it's hard for us to ever be alone and have our own space. After seven years, we have become used to being together all the time. Now, on the few occasions we're apart, it's weird.

How does being on the road so much affect their relationship?

Jennifer:
We live with eight or nine other people on a bus.

Jeromy:
Our relationship is different when we're on the road. We're with a bunch of people so we don't get a lot of alone time. I feel more disconnected from Jennifer when we're on the road. (They are on the road about 150 days a year). The morning is our sacred time. Sometimes before Jennifer gets up, I will get off the bus and go to the hotel. We try to give each other space because we know that's something that is important to both of us.

How do they keep their romance alive?

Jeromy:
What romance [he laughs]? Sometimes, instead of eating catered meals with the group, the two of us will go out to lunch or dinner. We try to remind each other that we are married. It's hard, though. You may think that our life is glamorous and we're staying at four-star hotels and dressing up all the time, but we're not. We're crammed in a bus. We sleep in separate beds 150 days out of the year. It's not glamorous.

Jennifer:
Jeromy is pretty romantic. He writes me cards telling me what I mean to him.

How does working together affect their spiritual life?

Jeromy:
We always have someone to bounce our ideas off of. We both have been learning and growing as the Lord teaches us. A few months ago, Jennifer was telling me the Lord was sharing with her things that she had set up as idols in her life. Because of being around her, I said, "I think I need to search myself for that too." If we had regular jobs and got home around 5 or 6 p.m., we wouldn't be concentrating on the spiritual things as much as the day-to-day aspects of life.

Jennifer:
I think it makes us accountable to each other. Jeromy will find me in the morning and we will pray together. We also pray at night. That reminds me to keep my focus."
