Al-Quds Brigades Leader Assassinated by Israeli Mossad in Syria
By the Palestine Chronicle Staff
Al-Quds Brigades, the military arm of the Islamic Jihad movement, announced in a statement that one of its leaders in Syria has assassinated the Israeli Mossad.
The Brigades said Ali Ramzy Al-Aswad, 31, was shot dead as he left his home in the Qudsaya district, on the outskirts of Damascus, on Sunday morning.
The group explained that Al-Aswad was a Palestinian refugee, whose family was displaced by the Zionist militia from the city of Haifa in 1948 and settled in Syria.
He joined the Al-Quds Brigades at a young age, and worked as a chemical engineer in its ranks.
In their statements, the Al-Quds Brigades reiterated their commitment to resist the Israeli occupation and to protect the Palestinian people.
Now, in relation to the fight against terrorism, our forces are active every day to settle accounts with the terrorists and to prevent the terrorist infrastructure. Thousands of terrorists have been eliminated in the past month; many others were arrested.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted, hours later, that Israeli forces are “active every day to settle scores with the terrorists and block terrorist infrastructure.”
The right-wing Israeli leader did not specifically mention Al-Aswad’s assassination, although analysts suggest that Netanyahu’s tweet was an indirect reference to the Palestinian leader.
