Israel kills suspect wearing ‘explosive belt’ following roadside bomb – Middle East Monitor
Israeli occupation forces killed a man suspected of “infiltrating” from Lebanon, and planted a roadside bomb that injured a man earlier this week, Anadolu A news agency has a report.
In a joint statement made by the Israeli army, the General Security Service (Shin Bet) and the Israeli police on Wednesday, it was reported that the suspect “was found in possession of weapons, including an explosive belt ready to be activated, and therefore an attack else. it was banned.”
An Israeli citizen was seriously injured on Monday when a roadside bomb exploded at the Megiddo junction, about 60 kilometers from the Lebanese border. After the explosion, the suspect managed to travel to northern Israel, but was stopped at a checkpoint and “neutralized”.
The statement added that Shin Bet is conducting a comprehensive investigation, including the suspect’s possible links to the Lebanese Hezbollah movement. Israeli officials declined to provide further details about the incident because of the ongoing investigation.
