Israel occupation forces kill Palestine youth in Al-Aqsa Mosque – Middle East Monitor
Israeli occupation forces on Friday night shot a Palestinian youth in the Al-Aqsa Mosque as he tried to re-enter the holy site after it was removed.
This came after Israeli occupation forces stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque and evacuated most of the Palestinian worshipers who remained inside.
At the same location of the killing, eyewitnesses said they saw Israeli occupation police attacking a Palestinian woman who was trying to re-enter the mosque.
Local Palestinian media reported that the young man, identified as Mohammed Elasibi, a 26-year-old resident of Hura Bedouin town in Al-Naqab, tried to protect the woman who was attacked by the Israeli police.
Israeli police claimed in a statement that the young man tried to grab a soldier’s weapon and was shot and later “neutralized”.
An eyewitness testified that he heard 20 shots fired in less than a minute, which left one man injured on the floor near Bab Al-Silsila Gate.
The Al-Aqsa Mosque administration said about 250,000 Palestinians offered the second Friday prayer there, while hundreds remained inside the mosque.
One of the few Palestinians who remained at the mosque told local Palestinian media that Israeli occupation forces stormed the sanctuary courtyards and forced most of the worshipers out.
