Kiryat Motzkin mayor charged with multiple corruption offenses in two cases


Haim Tzuri, Mayor of Kiryat Motzkin, was delighted in Northern Israel, from a series of contaminated charges on Sunday.

In one case, prosecutors alleged that Tzuri and valves contacted Dubi Spiegler, a rival party activist running in the city elections, in 2017, and offered jobs in the municipality for himself and his wife in exchange for information on activities on activities the competitive faction.

In another case, prosecutors alleged that Tzuri made illegal use of city data to gather information about residents’ political choices to re -elect. In addition, it is alleged that public funds have been used to upgrade the city database for the political needs of Tzuri.

When the allegations emerged in the media, it is alleged that Tzuri tried to prevent the investigation against concealing evidence.

The charging sheet included bribes, violation of confidence, invasion of privacy and inhibiting justice.

After indictment, Attorney General Gali Baharav-Mara asked to remove the Tzuri government for his job, mentioning the alleged serious abuse of his job.

In a Facebook post, Tzuri denied the charges but said that he did not surprise them, mentioning other Mayors who, in his opinion, were entitled to trumpet fees.

“Justice will be served! I have patience and strength, patience that comes from you, the residents. There is no other option, ”he wrote.
