Israel’s Temple Mount extremist groups have promised large cash prizes to settlers who successfully kill animal sacrifices at the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the Passover holiday, Al Jazeera reported Friday.
The fanatical Israeli settler groups have promised to pay NIS25,000 to any settler who kills a sheep inside the world’s third holiest place for Muslims and NIS2,500 to any extremist settler detained for trying to bring a sheep inside Al -Aqsa Mosque.
Passover begins on April 5 and coincides with the third week of the holy month of Ramadan. Settler raids and violations are expected to trigger a wave of tension in the already heated flashpoint location.
Meanwhile, in a letter addressed to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on Thursday, 15 rabbis argued that it was in Israel’s “national interest” to allow the slaughter of animals at Al-Aqsa Mosque. .
“We want to offer the Passover sacrifice in its right place and at the right time despite all the difficulties. We ask that the site of the temple be opened to allow the messengers of the people of Israel to renew the sacrifice,” they wrote in their letter.

The Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism has warned of the risk of Israeli measures related to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, citing expected plans to allow Israeli settlers to slaughter animal sacrifices within its sanctuary courtyards. during Easter.
“This is a dangerous plan and an unprecedented escalation and provocation of the feelings of all Muslims in the world during the holy month of Ramadan,” Al-Azhar Observatory announced in a statement on Friday.
Al-Azhar Observatory also warned: “The campaigns of the extremist Zionists will cause a wave of hatred and violence.”
The Khateeb of Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Mohammad Hussein said that the large number of Muslim worshipers who performed Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque proves that people are ready to defend and protect it.
The Endowment Department in Jerusalem estimated that 250,000 Palestinian worshipers offered Friday prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the second Friday of Ramadan.
