Washington’s provocative behaviour in Syria threatens deconfliction agreements – Middle East Monitor
The Russians have protested against the provocative actions of the United States forces in Al-Hasakah, Syria, according to a statement on Friday by the Deputy Head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria Oleg Gurinov.
“The provocative actions of the units of the United States Armed Forces have been recorded in the province of Al-Hasakah. During the joint Russian-Turkish patrols, the movement of two patrols by the so-called anti-terrorist coalition was tracked along the non-deconfliction routes. near Deiruna-Aga and Saramsak. According to Gurinov: “The violation of the deconfliction agreements by the coalition government weakens the fragile balance of power, achieved through the efforts of Russia, in the region, and also has a negative impact on the development of the situation.”
Gurinov noted that four cases of shelling were recorded in the last 24 hours in the Idlib de-escalation zone from the positions of terrorist groups Jabhat Al-Nusra and the Islamic Party of Turkey (both banned in Russia). He also said that a Syrian soldier was wounded in sniper fire opened against government forces.
